Does This Dessert Appeal To You?

I saw a video on how to make this.  Got to admit, I am not enthralled with the two layers of oreos and a bit ambivalent on the chocolate chip cookie topper.  But I am thinking of substituting other items for the oreos and giving it a try.

I think it would if you took all of the Oreo stuff out.

Speaking of deserts, and I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I had this caramel apple cheesecake at the hotel I was staying at a few weeks ago.  It was very good (not great), but I think it had potential to be great and I am not a big cheesecake fan.

I made a caramel apple cheesecake for a competition, but it did not look anything like your photo.

It is awesome looking, I personally could pass on the internal Oreos but stay with the chocolate chip, Yum.

I have had little success with any Tasy recipe.  There are few places online that have true and tested recipes.  I tend to side toward america's test kitchen and serious eats.  Beyond those two I am skeptical to their ability to work out or look nearly as good as the website.

YES!  That death by chocolate on the bottom looks fantastic....I would only take a bite or two though, sweets sit like an anvil on my belly.  I pass on deserts 99% of the time, but not because my mouth does not want it.

Well, I guess I will be PelletFan Test Kitchen this weekend because I am going to give it a whirl.  No Oreos, subbing other things.  I will post my efforts.

I thought the layer of oreos looked like they had a gap between them yet the video didn't show a gap and I didn't think they would melt.  I was most curious about that :)
