If you  have time, here is a decent story about the Lehigh Valley cheesesteak.

https://www.seriouseats.com/2014/10/cheesesteak-red-sauce-lehigh-valley-tradition.html

Thank you for posting this article!  You may recall that my father is from Easton, PA and mother is from West Chester, PA.  They raised me primarily in North Carolina but every summer and Christmas were spent up there visiting grandparents. Long summer trips. I felt like I lived there for part of the year.
Eating those cheesesteaks in Easton were my favorite but I never knew it was a Lehigh Valley specialty. For a cheesesteak, they were just my normal. But after reading the article I see the difference from regular philly style.  I guess I just never really noticed before.
In West Chester I craved Italian hoagies from a particular deli. But in Easton, I needed cheesesteaks. Man I miss those.  The best.

The $120 sale really tempted me, however I questioned if I had a compatible grill since it will not work on a Memphis. I was looking at pictures and was trying to make sure I understood the drain system, so I e-mailed them a question. The hack will not work on pellet grills with the drain on the left side like the new Traeger Pro models :(

BBQ Hack did say they will be introducing a more universal model in August...and within 5 minutes of me e-mailing the question I might add.

My apologies to all the rest of you that bought tickets, I'm sure Murphy's law will prevail here :P

Sale price is a father's day special thru Sunday.  When is the auction taking place so I know whether to buy now or wait?  And, where is that UPS guy with the griddle so Bentley can start cooking?  ;)

Feels very sturdy and whether you will be able to see it in the video or not, it does not budge!  I am in the process of deleting some bad words and will post up the video as soon as I can.  I put a couple of stills in the Review.

Curious if it feels sturdy and if it slides around inside the grill when you are actually cooking on it.

Did the griddle perform up to your expectations versus other griddles you may have cooked that same meal on?

The only other one I did was the Little Griddle, and to be fair to it, I believe it was made for a home kitchen over a gas range.  It just did not hold the heat like the Grill Hack.  The Little Griddle was a good product...the Grill Hack is made for a pellet unit and you do not need to close the lid.

Video should be done in about 10 minutes, got 23 minutes down to about 7, sorry, still a little to long.  It was not a great meal, but it was good.  The device performed great.  Learning curve will not be to steep, and I now know why I never saw Teriyaki ANYTHING offered on a Teppanyaki cook!  To much sugar!

Gonna go run it under some water to clean, hit it with a chore gril and take a photo!

What temp did you keep the griddle at and at what temp was the controller running?  I know you initially mentioned 300 in the video.  Not sure if you cut the temp down or not nor what the temp of the griddle stayed at while controller was at 300.

Was the griddle pre-seasoned or did you need to do anything prior to first cook?

Was it easy to install the griddle in the grill?  What did you have to do?  Does it just drop over the firepot, hang on the ledges, and just need to level with the bolts?

It was at 300° for all but about 5 minutes when I turned it to 250.  I believe the food effects the temperature, but only for a short period.  I think you see me taking periodic readings through.  From the high in the low 500's to about the mid 350's, the temps were pretty syedy.  Usually between 350 and 400°.

The instructions said to wash it before using, then to apply oil and cook for awhile, which I did for about 20 minutes at 300°.  Kristing put it "together" meaning she attached that grease drain which I later took off.  It is as simple as putting it in the unit.  I wanted to take it to the next level, so I got out the level and put the 4 bolts in to get the slope the way I wanted it.  It goes in and out real easy, but it is a solid unit and is hefty!

I have some yard work to do tomorrow, but will try and do some different temperature settings and record some video of the temperatures on various spots on the griddle.

The food was good, but I don't think Bent's skills are as a Teppanyaki (sp?) cook -- especially since he has done it only once before 10 years ago and decided last night that he would work from memory as to what a pro was doing 30 years ago.  I am going to be interested in some of the other things.

It is a breakfast cooking machine, of that I am certain!  Video processing now.

Will start on this, should have reread it before I started the grill.  Now need to go turn off and cool!

2. TBD
3. Subjective, I have experienced none.
4. Very.
5. TBD

1. Understand the relationship of grill controller set temp to the temp of the griddle with the lid open.
2. Understand how long it takes the griddle to get to 400° with the lid closed and what was grill controller set temp.  I read ideal griddle cooking temp is 350°-375°.  My goal is to understand what the grill needs to be set at with lid closed in order to get the griddle to that range after the lid is opened.  For example, set grill at 300° for 10 minutes and griddle is at XXX° when opened and then drops and stabilizes at XXX° after 5 minutes.  Measuring the center is fine as my request below gives other griddle surface areas.
3. Subjectively, is there any wood fired flavor on the food?
4. Subjectively, how easy is it to install and remove the griddle from the grill?
5. Once griddle has stablized its temp 350°-375° with the lid open for 5 minutes, using an infrared temp gun, what are the temps back L-C-R and front L-C-R?
