Am getting ready to do Cheese Steak and was gonna do Home Fried Potatoes but...Let me know and I will cook them when I do the Hash Browns.

I thought I knew what these were, then I Googled them and saw different kinds, of which these 2 were the most prevalent.  I need to know 1st or 2nd photo?

Pancakes, scrambled eggs, home fried potatoes, and smash burgers.

Video of cook coming.  I am hard on my cooking sometimes, but I think I am always fair.  I will put that Cheese Steak up against anything Anywhere, Philly or not and it will win!

My question is does it matter where the controller is set at, as the heat is not getting to the probe anyway, unless i am not understanding what the bottom of the griddle is like.

That looks awesome and I have no doubt it tasted phenomenal also, what steak did you use, you probably said but I missed it.

If you want the griddle in a certain temperature range it does.  I have never turned the controller to higher then 250° when cooking and have seen temperature on the griddle surface of 500+.  I can't imagine how hot the griddle surface would be if the controller was set at 400°, much less 500°.

My question is does it matter where the controller is set at, as the heat is not getting to the probe anyway, unless i am not understanding what the bottom of the griddle is like.

I did not say, it was a USDA Rib-eye Steak sliced on #3 setting on Chef mate 610.

Both sandwiches looked great.  What kind of oil have you been using for these cooks?  Also, could you show how you have been cleaning it after use?  Looks like it is really seasoned now.

Just cheap "vegetable" oil.  Kristin commented that she wished I had use butter on the veggie's as she did not care for the oil flavor.  I don't taste it.

No I cant show how I have been cleaning it as that has not been done.  I figured I would clean it before it is sent to hughver.  It is better then any non stick surface I have ever used, including the GraniteRock, and I really like it.

Do you feel you have it pretty well seasoned now that it is non-stick?  Thanks for helping me learn about using a griddle.  Mine is supposed to arrive on Thursday.  I have to get my Traeger up and running so I can use it.  Looking forward to some cheesesteaks.

I am partial to Jim's myself when in Philly, but Bent, your steaks looked awesome.  Loved the variation using the munster on the first sammie.  Not to play second fiddle, but the sausage also looked to have a nice sear on it as well.  So when you say you have not cleaned it yet, you are just scraping off the excess bits, wiping down and then using a little more oil before the next cook and it is getting seasoned?

I think it is there.  Will have to check in on hughver in the fall and get his take on it!

Do you feel you have it pretty well seasoned now that it is non-stick?

I should have paid more attention to it, but boy do natural casing sausages get a snap when grilled!  I wish I had some Hot Links!

I forgot to clean it after the last cook, and it was already hot, so I just moved some bits around and went at it.  I truly believe you could just go out there and cook something with no fats and it would be fine.  I may try that with a single egg tomorrow.  I guess I will try and hook the drain up tomorrow, and start dumping ice on it at the end of a cook and clean it like you would any normal griddle!

Not to play second fiddle, but the sausage also looked to have a nice sear on it as well.  So when you say you have not cleaned it yet, you are just scraping off the excess bits, wiping down and then using a little more oil before the next cook and it is getting seasoned?

He normally starts cooking about 10:30 pm after I have gone to bed.  If you saw our kitchen every morning, you would know that he doesn't even comprehend this question! :pig:
