Non traditional holiday meals
« on: November 17, 2019, 11:06:17 AM »

I am confident that they will be good but wanted to get others take on them.
Not a big fan of super hot but sure am interested in the chicken and cheese with the hot sauce.

The real question is why aren't you making your own?    :pig:

Tried that a few years ago, they were barely OK. The masa part was just north of “uh no”. Filling was good but they were pretty disappointing. What I don’t like is nothing but corn....we shall see. This is from a crew who I have worked with on projects, I have had the burritos they bring and they truly are fantastic. I am worried about the hot part though. Their medium is my “ grab a fire extinguisher “.

Tamales for Christmas Eve supper are very traditional in SoCal.  Most Hispanic families go to midnight Mass and then have a tamale feast.  I had a friend who use to order 6 dozen for Christmas Eve!

I voted beef but I would also have voted for the chicken if I could vote twice like in Chicago back in the day.

There are a few counties here in Texas where the motto is "Vote early and vote often".

I voted beef, but we usually get all three for the holidays.  Bean with jalapeno are good too.  Tamales are a year around food around here.  During the holidays families get together and make a bunch.  I've never been involved with such, mainly because it is so much work.  It's easier to grill some meat and veggies and be just as full.  Or just buy some from HEB.

I voted chicken and cheese, mostly because I am a hot sauce fan.  Next choice would have been the beef with red sauce, cause that is always good too.
