Pork shots
« on: September 19, 2017, 01:35:10 PM »

These usually go quick.

Ingredients:

Kielbasa..
Bacon..
Brown sugar. I use Splenda brown sugar.
Your favorite rib rub.

Cut the kielbasa into 3/8" thick medallions.
Wrap 1/2 slice bacon around the outside edge of the medallion, forming a cup. Secure with a toothpick.
It helps to pre cook your bacon on a rack in a 350* oven for 10 min or so to tighten it up some. Makes it easier to form the cup without the bacon flopping inward.

Fill the cup with brown sugar, and sprinkle some rub on top.

Smoke @225-250* for around 2 1/2 hrs.

Fill the cup with brown sugar, and sprinkle some rub on top.

Fill the cup?  Level?

Looks like a lot of labor, considering you know those things are gonna fly off the plate like there is no tomorrow. Looks tasty!

Not really.  Took me 10 min to build these after the bacon cooled.

You can, but more of the sugar may melt out.

I'm thinking of making these and transporting them to a party.  They'll be kinda' hard to FTC to keep them hot.

Bentley, did you transport them?

Are they okay cold?

Can they be easily warmed in a microwave?

Did you pre-cooked the bacon?
