 Smoking some beef ribs, baked potatoes, & broccoli, cauliflower, & carrots in cheese sauce.

The two pork butts went on the smoker at 2:45 AM. I am hedging my bet on time since last time I did two it took almost 19 hours for the second to complete.

I will also be grilling vegetables on my griddle.

There is a chance that I will be making sidewalk fried eggs. Today is the second day of the heat wave peak. Yesterday our drive got to over 156 degrees. I have placed a cast iron skillet on our drive to start absorbing heat. I will try both the skillet and the drive directly if it gets hot enough.

This is the measurement from 2:40 yesterday.

About 8-10 lbs. of beef short ribs my wife found in the freezer.  One of my favorite entrees.

Friday night: American Wagyu Sirloin Filets
Saturday: Iowa Chops
Today: Prime Tri Tip
Tomorrow: Pork Butt (will go on tonight) and pork belly burnt ends.
Tuesday: Chicken hind quarters and split chicken breast (including that since the wife originally wanted me to cook it this weekend too)

Got a wonderful deal on a pre-marinaded  (red wine and herbs) pork loin which Bent grilled up on the Memphis Pro tonight.

I smoked some ribs today after going to look for aliens at Devils Tower, WY.  It will be raining here in Spearfish, SD tomorrow that may change to snow by Tuesday.  We are up here in our RV and will be heading back South on Wednesday.

I climbed Devil's Tower many years ago. It was a real classic. The top is like a piece of prairie pushed into the sky. It is just about the same as what is below. It is actually crown shaped on top, rather than flat, like it looks from a distance. I also climbed in the Ten Pens in the Black Hills of Custer State Park. They are beautiful areas. Some of the most scenic in the country.

I'm Cooking a 9lb pork butt, Ribeye Medallions wrapped in double smoked bacon, and Chicken legs and thighs with Honey Rub  :bbq:

The first pork butt took 15:20 and rested for a little more than an hour. It is already shredded and folks have eaten.

The second is up to the mid 190's and has gone for 17:30 so far. I think it will beat the almost 19 hours my second one took last time.

The pork is great. All the creative cooks (and the not so creative non cooks) are making good use of it in their own special ways.

This was the smaller butt. What is in the bowl is what was left after everyone ate. We should have enough to freeze.
