There were a few posted on here in the early days of when this board went live.  I remember there being at least one vertical that someone was building.

I made one once, then abandoned it.
You can buy the whole hopper and feed mechanism in one piece.
My mistake was trying to make it work with the cheap cabinet I had.
If you can't find something that modifies easily, would be best to make your own cabinet if you have welding skills.

I actually have one made.  It's main body is the CharBroil double chef body BUT I added an SRG infrared chamber to it so it would be and infrared smoker!

I was just wondering if anyone else made their own

I have one I made from an old Makers Mark Vertical Gas smoker. I used a hopper assembly from Smoke Daddy, added PID control. I still use it now and then when I need to do a lot of meat at one time. It will hold 6 to 8 briskets with no problem depending on their size. :)
