Peanut butter jalapeno poppers.
« on: July 05, 2021, 08:55:18 AM »

Anybody ever try these or make them?
Big celebration in the neighborhood and a good friend brought some. They know we cook etc. and insisted we try them. Gotta tell you, pretty dang good. Bacon wrapped etc. and really softened (for lack of better terms) the jalapeno, not a pepper fan. Give them a try, I know I am.

I've stuffed jalapenos with peanut butter, and just ate them like that.
Never tried them on the grill. Seems to me that the peanut butter would liquefy.

So they are jalapenos, stuffed with peanut butter, wrapped in bacon and grilled?

I didn’t make them but I did eat them so honestly don’t know how or what they did to them.
They truly were good.
I am definitely going to try making some though.

I sure think so, by that I mean they looked like traditional jalapeño poppers.
I don’t think they would soften anymore than cream cheese though?
They truly were different but in a good way.

Google peanut butter jalapeno poppers. There are a number of recipes for them. Might have to try some the next time I make poppers.

sounds interesting. Maybe soften some cream cheese and add some PB to it. Heck maybe even a bit of strawberry jelly.

The first bacon wrapped jalapeño popper I ever tried was from the Train Wreck Bar in Burlington, WA. It was served with a side of strawberry chili sauce, which seemed silly until I needed relief from the heat of the pepper. It also tasted surprisingly good. I think you’re on to something with the PB&J.
I've been to the Train Wreck a couple of times.  Unsuspicious yet surprisingly good.  I've done caramelized and candied onion jelly/sauce to cool down an ABT.

I think I now might have to try peanut butter.

Had fresh jalapenos from the garden and so looked up a recipe.  Called for 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 2 Tbs. cream cheese and 2 Tbs. chili pepper jelly (did not have that so substituted Bent's homemade raspberry-jalapeno jelly).

Just pulled from the oven and tasted.  They were good, but too much an overwhelming taste of peanut butter for me. Also a bit sweet.  I guess I like the traditional cream cheese, pepper jack and pineapple filing I normally use.  But it was fun to experiment and try something new!
