The BIG Big Mac Attack happened today! There were over 70 kids and adults at a church camp in our neighborhood.
The burger topped out at 44.54 lbs. I cooked the burger patties in an oven at 400* F for about 45 min. I had a couple of temp probes in each burger. I let them cook until they hit an IT of 140* - 150*. There was quite a variation in each burger, probably due to different hot spots in the oven. For myself, I would have pulled them earlier, but for a crowd I wanted to let them go longer. The burgers were quite juicy and enthusiastically received.
For the two bottom buns we had 20 inch pizzas with mushrooms, onion, and pickle. The top buns were pizzas with pepperoni, salami, and sausage, plus sesame seeds on the bottom of the crust (which would be on top of the bun). Each burger also had a 3 lb. cheese slice, 2.5 lbs. of bacon, thousand island dressing for Big Mac sauce, along with with lettuce, tomato and onions on top.
My wife made a huge French fry box. We baked up a bunch of frozen fries from the store and filled the box. That was also a big hit. One of these days I will play around with creating a big fry, but that is on hold for now.
I can hardly wait for the next project! However, that will be a little while. Sally and I are on the move again. We are headed to Charlotte, MI. It is about 15 miles southwest of Lansing, MI. We are looking forward to the move, but I may need to add a little more green to my wardrobe!
Pictures coming soon!
