Sorry to read this on three fronts; your wife's illness, your risk and the Biggest Mac delay.  I'm hoping for your betterness (if that's a word).

Oh JD, I am so sorry and echo Paul's sentiments.  I will add your wife and you to my prayer list.

Paul and Kristin, thanks for your concern and prayers. We went back to the doctor yesterday and they did more blood tests. She has a fairly serious virus. Even though she could be contagious, it is not easy to share. Comparing the numbers from the two tests, it shows things are trending in the right direction and she has shown improvement over the last few days. It will just take time and rest for it to go away.

As it turns out, it would have been okay to do the burger last Sunday, but I do have a new plan. There is a church camp just a few miles away, and I am friends with the manager. I also know some of the campers that are attending the camp during the second week in  June. I spoke with the person in charge of the food for the week of the camp. She was very excited about having a BIG Big Mac for lunch on one of the days.

The burger patties, bacon, and cheese are in the freezer, so we should be good to go. This may also give me a chance to do some more experimenting with the French fries.

Thank you for the update. I will continue to pray for a quick and full recovery.

And camp sounds fun! Bet the kids will be excited. Looking forward to those photos.

The BIG Big Mac Attack happened today! There were over 70 kids and adults at a church camp in our neighborhood.

The burger topped out at 44.54 lbs. I cooked the burger patties in an oven at 400* F for about 45 min. I had a couple of temp probes in each burger. I let them cook until they hit an IT of 140* - 150*. There was quite a variation in each burger, probably due to different hot spots in the oven. For myself, I would have pulled them earlier, but for a crowd I wanted to let them go longer. The burgers were quite juicy and enthusiastically received.

For the two bottom buns we had 20 inch pizzas with mushrooms, onion, and pickle. The top buns were pizzas with pepperoni, salami, and sausage, plus sesame seeds on the bottom of the crust (which would be on top of the bun). Each burger also had a 3 lb. cheese slice, 2.5 lbs. of bacon, thousand island dressing for Big Mac sauce, along with with lettuce, tomato and onions on top.

My wife made a huge French fry box. We baked up a bunch of frozen fries from the store and filled the box. That was also a big hit. One of these days I will play around with creating a big fry, but that is on hold for now.

I can hardly wait for the next project! However, that will be a little while. Sally and I are on the move again. We are headed to Charlotte, MI. It is about 15 miles southwest of Lansing, MI. We are looking forward to the move, but I may need to add a little more green to my wardrobe!

Pictures coming soon!

I am sorry the photos are off. I have discovered if I take horizontal photos with the lens of the camera up they will post okay. I forgot to mention this to the person I handed the phone to, so she could take pictures for me. So here are a few more sideways photos.

I guess I just can't picture what a serving size is.

I had a hard time with that one too. Ideally the pizza should have been left uncut. If that was the case, I would have cut it in squares.

Since it was precut in slices, I ended up cutting rings around the pizza. We ended up getting three servings per slice. There was the outside ring edge pieces, the middle cut, and the inside pointed slice. It was not ideal, but it worked.
