Another Thanksgiving Dinner in the Books!
« on: November 28, 2024, 04:18:20 PM »

Started on the Pecan Pie this morning.  Marian's pie crust recipe.  Simple, can all be done in a food processor.

Made it thick today, so decided it needed to be blind baked. Forgot to put parchment paper before the beans, so that wan an adventure taking them out!

Was pleased with the color.  Will have some in a couple of hours when I wake up from the tryptophan nap!

Dinner was not pretty, but it met all expectations!  Kristin's cornbread and my traditional dressing.  Pulled the breast at 155°, and the legs at 200°, legs could have gone to 210° for texture.  Gravy looks horrible, but was as good as it gets!

$11.  Hit the spot after 3.5 hour drive and 2+ hours at the art museum.

Thought I had tuna steaks in the freezer but couldn't find them, so lamb chops, can of peas, box of cornbread stuffing. Best part was it was all done in under 10 minutes.
I have a turkey breast I will probably do for us over the weekend.
