  • It seemed like 'Bama did just enough to win the game by focusing on the run game and running time off the clock.

I have watched other bowl games sporadically this year but there seemed to be a lot of back and forth games that went down to the last few possessions which is always nice to see.  The Tennessee vs Purdue game was fun to watch as was the Pitt vs Michigan St game.

  • Don't get Bent started on Tenn/Perdue. He will tell you Tenn was robbed of that OT TD and I have to agree.

I am giving up on the Georgia/Michigan game. Michigan looks even worse than Cinci and Georgia looks a lot stronger than the Tide.

  • I would agree that TN got robbed.  If the ref thought that the player was stopped, he should have blown his whistle earlier.

Actually they were two very predictable playoff games.

As someone who grew up in Battle Creek, the home of Kelloggs, I was surprised to see there was a Tony the Tiger bowl game. It was a largely a forgettable game. However it did feature Central Michigan, who stepped in at the last minute to play after their opponent (in an even more forgettable bowl game) had to drop out. It was fun to see them hang on for the win. Go Chips!

  • Cincinnati Vs. Michigan would have been a better game.

  • I heard something yesterday about the recent history of these playoff games, but forget the exact information.  It was something like each game had been won by 20+ points on average or something ridiculous like that.  How bad will it be if they expand the playoff field to 6 or more teams?

The majority of the other bowl games were closer scores.  I used to be against so many games, but I am warming up to them.  It is nice to have some football on TV during December.  It is also nice for senior players who have put forth the effort for what could be 4+ years to get to participate in such an event and have a final game of their college career.  It is unfortunate that some had to be cancelled this year.  I am also not a fan of players not participating in the game due to the NFL draft.  I get the economics of it, but it just doesn't feel right that the college gave the player a showcase and then they quit on the college.  Maybe the NCAA/NFL should provide the player an insurance policy so that they play in the game and they are protected economically.

  • I too have become accustom to the lower tier bowl games. My alma mater played and won one of the newer bowls, the New Orleans Bowl. I think that they were 13-1 this year. Their only loss was to Texas.

I just hate a game with no defense.  Just became boring to me.  Better games were on earlier.

  • Hawkeye is pretty excited about tonight.  He is already wearing his Bama kerchief and has been giving Uga a beatdown (I know it is a big Lambchop, but he thinks it looks like a bulldog when it is on its back).  I don't have a good feeling about how this game will come out, but rooting for Bama as always.  Roll Tide Roll, beat Georgia!!!!

  • I am expecting Bama to win.  I like watching them play.  Not enough to say they are my team, but enough to be happy if they won.

  • No preference, just never got interested in College football, or any sport for that matter, except NFL football.
