I heard something yesterday about the recent history of these playoff games, but forget the exact information. It was something like each game had been won by 20+ points on average or something ridiculous like that. How bad will it be if they expand the playoff field to 6 or more teams?
The majority of the other bowl games were closer scores. I used to be against so many games, but I am warming up to them. It is nice to have some football on TV during December. It is also nice for senior players who have put forth the effort for what could be 4+ years to get to participate in such an event and have a final game of their college career. It is unfortunate that some had to be cancelled this year. I am also not a fan of players not participating in the game due to the NFL draft. I get the economics of it, but it just doesn't feel right that the college gave the player a showcase and then they quit on the college. Maybe the NCAA/NFL should provide the player an insurance policy so that they play in the game and they are protected economically.
