Just had one an hour ago. Will see what shakes out before I weigh in on how mine tasted.
-
I'm curious to hear thoughts on this too. I have not had one yet.
-
I have only had Popeyes once, it was a bad experience from the start. Food as kind of okay although it was not hot/warm. I want to try popeyes again, there really are not any closer than 45 minutes or so.
I will say, off topic, that I do kind of like KFC Nashville Hot chicken.

Have never had their sandwich but I have partaken in their chicken and biscuits until I went to one of their franchises and got the most driest thighs I've ever had. How do you get dry thighs? These must have been sittin around forever under the heat lamp. Haven't been back since. At least not since I had a Carls Jr chicken tender basket. That's the best fast food chicken ever.
-
I grew up on popeyes chicken and red beans. The sandwich is on par with the restaurants that use real chicken breast. I love chicken sandwich, but none are worth waiting in line or the other nonsense that was reported. I do really miss their onion rings and the super Popeyes on Veterans.
-
I've had about 6 or 7 of them.
The spicy is the best chicken sandwich I have ever had.
-
The first time my wife and I had these we both loved them. The second time we still do. My wife gets the spicy and even though she loves spicy food it is very hot to her. But she still eats it.
We get Popeyes chicken several times a month to take home with us. Now we get a chicken sandwich to eat on the way home.

I did not think there was a Popeyes in my neck of the woods. Come to find out there is one within 20 miles of where I live. I will check it out the next time I visit that area. It will be interesting to see if it is as good as advertised!
-
It is the most crunchiest of all the chicken sandwiches I have had and I do believe for the deep fried variety the best in that regard. For me, as always with fast food chicken sandwiches, it lacked flavor. I had the spicy and it had a little flavor in the sauce, but the actual chicken seemed devoid of it. Glad I had one, but it will be a one off for me.

I have not tried one yet. Not sure if there are many Popeyes around me. However might look for one when I travel for work and give it a whirl.

What do you think of Chick-fil-A? I think there chicken is very flavorful even if it is all salt and msg. Haven't had Popeyes but Chick-fil-A is about a once of year treat for me. One original and one spicy, and I'm good until the next year.

I have had one and it was 2 years ago...I would be lying if I said I remember what it tasted like. If the choice is cheeseburger or chicken sandwich, I think you know which one I am gonna pick. I just don eat chicken sandwiches!

I am the same way, but with breakfast sandwiches. The local Chick-fil-A is packed with people getting something with chicken on it for breakfast every day. I head over to Hardees for a real breakfast of sausage, egg and biscuit. I think I have been in a Chick-fil-A two times and I have seen what the hype is. I have tried Popeyes chicken sandwich and I liked it, but I most likely will never try one from Chick-fil-A.

My go to breakfast sandwich is from Burger King - croissant with ham, sausage, bacon, and cheese. I'm not an egg fan so I have them skip that.

Hello,
I've had two of these sandwiches. Both times my kids wanted to go there, and I was curious about them being as good as the lines made them seem to be. We happened to go past Popeyes and there wasn't a line so I got one with the spicy sauce. I like spicy sauce but found the sauce on the sandwich to be bland. I was disappointed. About two weeks later, the kids wanted to go back, and again there wasn't a line. I got it without the sauce. Really bad tasting sandwich. Somehow the sauce that I found disappointing helped. I'll never get another chicken sandwich from Popeyes.

We have the full spectrum of opinions, love it! But with 60% of Members never having tried one, I wish I had put in a response about not having one around where you live. It also begs the question, is Popeye's a national chain?
-
35 years ago, they had great chicken, and it was my go to place when I lived in Fl. A couple of years ago, they opened one up in Owensboro, and meh is undue praise. Maybe bad management, O'boro has a lot of fast food places, but few are any good!

They are here in AZ. I have one about 1/2 mile north.
-
They are here in Manhattan, KS and a few of them in Topeka as well.
The Manhattan one is always busy, much more so it appears than the other fast food around it.
-

They are all over the country. Here is what they list. https://locations.popeyes.com/
Management, service and quality can be hit or miss as with most chains.

I am a fan of the Wendys spicy chicken both nuggets and sandwich. The roll they use seems to give it an off taste to me, I usually add a packet or 2 of their chili sauce I love that stuff. wish i could find it in a bottle somewhere.
My Popeyes as well as chic fillet or however it is spelled are both 45 minute drive at least, and if I am in that area an wanting something to eat I can find better food.
I am not much for the chain places, rather give my money to a small local diner or restaurant.

I'm with you on that. Rarely do I go to a chain restaurant.

I am afraid I am an addict to the Sausage Egg McMuffin for a quick breakfast. I think it is the best breakfast sandwich made. But of course that is not so. However, it is consistent and not "junk food", as it contains a great tasting sausage patty, and single egg, slice of cheese, and a butter toasted english muffin. And the fresh ground coffee (yes it now is) is one of the best tasting and for a senior, a bargain. Ain't no chicken sandwich but is a great "chain" sandwich.

We have Popeyes and I like their chicken, especially the ‘spicy’. I haven’t made any effort to try the chicken sandwich though as I generally don’t choose sandwiches when there are better non sandwich items. If I go to Chick-fil-A I usually get grilled nuggets.

They are in Portland Or. I am one never planning to have one. Not a fan of Popeyes...

Guess they are a chain. We have some in Tulsa, Ok. also. Never tried but will do so.

Here in MN. One just around the corner. Have to get over and try one. I think I would go for the spicy but might try one of each.

Thanks for sending that list Darwin. Whada you know, there are two Popeye's within 15 miles of me. Who woulda thunk it, guess I never really looked close for one. I guess I have to head over to one and give it a try.
-
I voted that I will probably never have one but that is not a knock on the sandwich. I just like their spicy chicken pieces better than I like chicken sandwiches.
-
Had my first Popeyes Chicken Sandwich combo today. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I had the spicy sandwich. I plan on going back.
-
Since we have a large majority that has never had one and some might try it, I have edited the poll so folks can change their vote.

One more to add to the list: I read in the Mpls paper this AM that Famous Dave's has entered the chicken sandwich war.
They say at all 125 locations around the U.S.
We have them here in MN (where he started I beleive) so will have to get out and try one!

I enjoyed eating at one of their places in WI. I thought it was the best BBQ available at a chain restaurant. My wife liked going there too so it was a plus.
