I agree about the media, but it is an agenda that goes both ways.  Some see nothing but great in what President Trump does, he is a new day and will lead us to the promised land.  Some act as if he is the devil incarnate and can do nothing right.  If he said he supported curing cancer, I am sure they would have a take that said he is trying to kill sick people.

Me?  I believe even though he casts himself as some great outsider who will "drain the swamp" he is no different than 99% of the politicians in the country and his administration is just as swampy as all those who have come before him.  That's why I don't believe any of this changes anything except some folks are still going to be hurt by his policies and some will benefit.  But, as a country as a whole, I don't think we are going to move forward one bit.

In the end, if we implement tariffs, it hurts other countries far more than it hurts us.

??? You lost me here. The steel workers who already lost their job could care less about people in other countries. It hurts them now as they need to feed their families and pays their bills.

Regarding the media it's on both sides. Fox will say President Trump is doing everything perfect. MSNBC will say he is a nut case. This is the same as it was with every president. Heck look at how Fox is praising Trump for things they killed Obama for (North Korea, Stock Market, Jobs), etc. This is why I stopped being affiliated with political parties 20 years ago.

We have a huge trade imbalance.  Yes, with the implementation of tariffs, some industries in the US will possibly be hurt, while others will be greatly improved.  The president can't, or at least shouldn't, focus on one group of people over another.  He is supposed to look out for the nation as a whole.  Just as our senators and congressman are supposed to look out for their constituents.
I agree with you on the political parties thing.  That is why I'm kind of amused that Trump got elected.  Both parties are in upheaval because of it.  Also, I'm aware that the media is biased on both sides.  That is the point I was making.  The media now has an agenda rather than just reporting the news.  Depending on which news channel, they spin it rather than report it.  The funny thing is, as far as news programs go, and I watch them all, Fox news (not their opinion shows, but just the news portion) is the closest to center.  It is still to the right, but it is not as far to the right as the others are to the left.  I believe in reading both sides of the news, no matter how much it xxxxx me off sometimes, because you never get the full story unless you do.  That means I watch fox news and cnn.  I read the huffington post, and the drudge report.  I even read infowars, which is just wacky, but it sometimes gives me nuggets I can research in other places.  If you aren't actively going out and trying to get both sides of a story anymore, then you wind up being uninformed on an issue, because news shows nowadays just stick to the side of the story that fits their narrative.  That's not news.  That is dangerous in my opinion.  An example is the trump russia collusion story.  Most of the media has this front and center every day, because their agenda is that trump is bad.  I have no problem with this.  If he is found to be guilty of something he should have the book thrown at him.  But, where was this same intensity on the email scandal?  There was an actual crime committed that you and I would have gone to jail for, yet most of the media relegated it to the end of the news and basically called it a witch hunt.  Seriously, lets just pretend that Trump was the one who deleted emails.  How do you think that would be playing in the news right now?   I want news channels to report the news, not shade the news.

There is a lot of bias against Trump because he lies quite a bit and he trashes the media constantly. Except for Fox News...

Let’s be honest here, he says a lot of boneheaded stuff. And he loves the media attention, bad or good.

For the record I’m a registered Independent and am willing to vote for someone regardless of party.

I am not a fan of Trump. I want a pragmatic leader, not a blowhard.

My point is that most of the news doesn't point out when the politicians left of center lie.  The news should be, you know, the news, and point out when any politician lies.  That absolutely does not happen.  Here is a great example of how bad the media is nowadays.  Remember way back when Romney was running for president.  He was openly mocked on most news channels for suggesting that Russia was who we needed to worry about.  They spent night after night bashing him for being an idiot because of that.  Now fast forward to the present.  Apparently Russia is now a huge concern.  The news should have left out their agenda back then, and they should leave their agenda out now.  It's partly why I find this collusion story kind of ironic.  On one hand they go off on Trump for possible collusion in the elections, but forget how much they collude in the elections every year.  Anyone remember Hillary getting the debate questions ahead of time?  Most television news channels are heavily pro Democratic (ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS, CNN.)  The news should not be this way.  I didn't realize this when I was younger, but as I got older and started to be more interested in the news and actively reading it, I started to notice a trend.  Luckily we have the internet and we can go out and read about an issue on all sides.
