I think Costco's meat may be a higher quality then RD.

I bought two prime packers from RD on Thursday and they were like $4.75 a lb.  That was before the discount if you buy something like 78 pounds.  I didn't pay close attention to what the break was but I think it was like $4.40 a lb after 78lbs.

Beef is getting expensive again.  Prime packers in my neck of the woods (SWFL) has always been a challenge to find so I can't complain or shop competitively unfortunately.  Costco refuses to carry briskets - just flats and the WalSams are all choice.

I've cooked a number of the plain jane Cash n Carry IBP Select packer briskets always with very good results. Just picked up another today $3.15lb. Saturday was at Costco and a choice packer was $3.99lb, passed.

I don't know about this.  I can't get whole packers but if we look at the Stamps we can see where they are from.  I know I can get prime from RD and they get supplies from Nebraska Beef in Florida.

Case weight for me in Charlotte, NC at RD is 51 pounds. Now I haven't been in a couple of months so I hope it hasn't changed.

I was in RD and Costco yesterday.

Prime Rib
Angus prime rib at RD . . . . . . $10.71/lb.
Choice prime rib at Costco . . . $9.69/lb.

Kitchen paper towels were significantly less costly on a per sheet basis at Costco (both are 2-ply).  The Costco label also had the advantage of being perforated to tear a 1/2-sheet.
