I envy you all that have LJ retailers close by, that have good prices.  I have one, but they are $17 for a 20# bag of Hickory.

Well, bought several bags about 2 months ago.  After 2, 20# bags, I found that they are ok for heat, however there's so much dust in each bag, that I had to sift thru all of it before putting it in the cooker.  Can't say anything about the smokiness, as I didn't notice it in the meat.  I ended up returning most of what I bought, because of the sifting thing.  I'll use what's left just for heat.  I'll use the $ for 100% flavor wood pellets.

Just wanted to follow up.  I ended up going for the Lumber Jack.  I was lucky and got into a group buy thru BBQ Pellets Online.  Worked out great and now I have a 1/4 ton of real, 100% Hickory and some real, 100% Apple.  I just used some of the Apple and man, am I a believer.  You really can tell the difference in the amount of smoke you get.
So many of us pellet smokers have issues getting enough smoke on their food.  If they'd only switch to Lumber Jack or another true 100% pellet, half of their issues would be solved.
