What is dried corn?  All I can think of with regards to dried corn is hominy!

• home made cranberry sauce
• stuffing with dungeness crab and chicken liver onions and celery
• another stove top stuffing
• an anitpasto platter ... I don't even know where my mom came up with this but it's been there for 30 years
• pickled herring again a mom thing
• gravy
• veggie platter with ranch
• my uncles blackberry pies
• costco pumpkin pies, probably three of them, I should say cool whip with a little pumpkin pie
• green bean casserole my wife's families favorite
• maybe some yams

What is dried corn?  All I can think of with regards to dried corn is hominy!

It is just sweet corn that is blanched and then cut off the cob and dried/dehydrated. We had corn dryers that went into the oven. They were, think cookie sheet sit it on top of a 2" steam pan and one of the corners of the cookie sheet were cut off so you could put water in the bottom.  Search for Amish Corn Dryer for some pictures.

The dried corn was just cooked in broth to re hydrate it some, it had a distinct flavor to it. It was expensive to buy,

Hominy, I remember my Mother making it also, I would go out and grab her a few ears of Field corn, and she would cook it or soak it in lye I believe. I don't remember all I know is I wish I would have paid more attention to some of the things she made and did.

My brother makes a concoction out of hominy and what not. Not on my plate.

as for dessert well.......

The only thing different to the above list is what we call southern baked beans: pork and beans, cooked ground beef, diced onions and green bell peppers, mustard, brown sugar, and bacon grease, baked in a pan at 350 until the peppers and onion are done. Goes great with ham!

So as I extrapolate my data (double digit %), it appears everyone loves/has, mashed potato's, stuffing/dressing & dessert.  It then goes off on tangents from there!
