Normally it would be Rib Roast. This year only 4 of us instead of 12. Will be at my youngest daughters home, instead of ours. So it will be Steaks and Maine Lobster. :)
Cheers to a wonderful holiday season for everyone and may your homes be blessed with family and joy. :)

Kiss of smoke was all the crab legs needed - and it could easily have all been in my head (or nose). Thirty minutes at about 225 turning once. Didn't split the shell or drizzle or baste. Heated them, took them off and enjoyed immediately. Meat was sweet and tender!

Our Christmas meal is always up in the air until the week before due to the fluidity of the logistics - just who is coming this year and where will we be having them. Last year was oyster pot pie on the MAK with toasted parmesan sourdough. The year before was seafood chowder (oysters, clams, and halibut) with bacon-wrapped tri-tip.

Same thing every year... I buy 2 Prime tenderloins and have them cut into a mess of 1.5” filets. Always anticipated and enjoyed by family :)

Which reminds me of a xmas meat story, I grew up in a small town in SE Alaska, my dad was an avid hunter/fisherman as well as a biologist for the fish and game. He was a firm believer that you eat what you killed and you hunt what is in season. So one fall in the mid to late 60's some type of crane (Sand Hill Crane maybe) was going to be changed to protected status and not huntable any more.  He was able to shoot one right before it became illegal and put it in the freezer for a special Christmas treat. Well my dear mother had never cooked a meal before getting married and the cook stove we had was a turn of the century oil stove that was only slightly ahead of a wood stove for technology, no thermostat, just a dial from low to high.  Needless to say she burnt it until it was inedible, and is the only time I remember my father not speaking to her.  I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time but it brings a smile to my face whenever I remember it.

I will be doing a brisket that I got from local meat market.  Last year I did a brisket from Costco.  Costco did not have any small one's this year.  So I figured I would try the meat market.
