Looking at the forecast for this weekend the low Friday night will be -14 with a high on Sat. a balmy -6, then back down to -13 Sat. night.
Any ideas of what I should cook?  High heat?  Low & slow?

What are the forecasted temps in your locale?  Are you planning any cooks this weekend and braving the elements?

-9 this morning in upstate NY. Supposed to be colder tomorrow morning.  Smoking, well no prob. My GMG DB with insulated cover is up for any challenge.  The issue.............

 Cooked some Christmas New York strips it was -4

Got up this morning backed my cage out of the garage to warm it up, It read 10 degrees, By the time I got my Bride to work a mile away it read -22. Never got above -2 here today. Back to -12 right now. Got the pellet stove working overtime!

Supposed to be -6 wind chill in the morning and in low teens all day tomorrow.  Not as bad as some of you are having it.  However, I am going to go out with some buddies of mine since high school for beer and chicken wings tomorrow afternoon and stay warm inside.

The older I get, the less the difference between 0*f  or anything lower is insignificant.  It's too f@¢€÷n cold.

Low and slow. I have a brisket on now that ran through the night at sub zero temps. Burnt ends for brunch!

I hate to reply. In NC where I live we are getting down to 17 degrees Monday night. People in my area are bracing for the cold. Seems like good smoking weather to me.

 The only saving grace is, calm to no wind and sunny. That requires mid day cooking.   An evening cook is out for me.

Going to be mid to low teens here in NJ at night all week.  Smoked a boneless leg of lamb last night, probably going to cook a bone in turkey breast tonight.  Pits are not to far from the door, so I do not have to spend much time outside during the cooks.

Not much significant cold headed for west Michigan. Everything above ZERO.

But the "Lake Effect" routine is somewhat confusing to those not familiar with it.
Our weather comes across Lake Michigan which is at this time is not frozen over. The Arctic cold weather out of Minnesota and Wisconsin is actually warmed by the not frozen water of Lake Michigan. As this air passes over land  on our side it usually dumps a lot of snow along the lakeshore from the waters edge to about 25 miles inland.
So we actually see a considerable larger amount of snow than inland, but we are somewhat sheltered by the extreme cold conditions.
Don't know if that makes any sense or not---
 but HEY I'm a BBQ smoker, not a meteorologist .

Fort Wayne forecast. I've had the itch to light up my 270 lately,  but I'm guessing I will not brave this weather. I may change my mind if I get more sun than not on New Years day.

New year s eve forcast is a high of 75 and low of 50. Gotta love the weather in AZ
