Hi all!

Glad to be here.  Been smokin meats for close to 20 years.  First using a Weber kettle (I have to admit I still use that from time to time when I want a lot of smoke!),  then a big stick burner which I sold about 2 years ago when I realized that I never used it anymore.  I've had a Memphis Pro for several years now and love it.  I'm in Lakeville, MN and use the Pro year-round.  Although I must say that I don't use it as much in January and February!

I have not been able to meet to many people yet on these forums yet, nor have I ever cooked in a competition.  So far, just a home BBQ'r cooking for family and friends.

I love to read about other's cooks and get ideas for my own. To date, I have not posted too many pictures of my cooks. That's only because I get so caught up in what I'm doing that I forget to take pictures!  I'm usually done eating by the time I remember that I should have taken pics!  I'll try to get better at that.

BTW, "Gringo" has been my nickname since high school.  I had a gym teacher that could not pronounce my last name "Grengs." I no longer remember exactly how he pronounced it,  but it kinda sounded like "Gringo."  My classmates thought it was funny and began using it, and it eventually just became Gringo.

Anyway,  I love these forums and get a lot of helpful information.

Welcome to the fan club.  I'm originally from Ottertail County, about 200 miles WNW of you (maybe NNW—I'm trying to visualize it).  I'm in Nebraska now but would rather be there.
