Praise Round-Up Pot Luck - Looking for Ideas on a Dish
« on: January 30, 2018, 12:22:20 PM »

On the first Sunday of every month a local cattle rancher hosts a Praise and Worship get together followed by a potluck.  This coming Sunday the potlucks theme is Tacos.  I am looking for ideas for what to bring to add to the meal.  I was thinking pulled pork which is great on tacos.  Any ideas are appreciated.  Thank in advance.

Main dish only, or sides, salsas, and toppings?

You could always do a nativity scene like this. Probably go over well at a praise related get together.

I wish I was that creative, that would be cool.  I can bring anything, main dish, side salad or deserts.

I was kidding. I tried to find some sort of taco or Mexican related religious food presentation, and that popped up.

Not to worry, my       are in my wife’s purse, sort of kidding.

Really can bring whatever I want, I am home all week on vacation and plan on doing a lot of smoking on the grill  :bbq:.  So my thought is something I can do on the grill.

Love the humor, didn’t know if you were being serious or not so I played it safe.  Really not a chance in H E double hockey sticks that I would even consider bringing that.  Hahalol

I found this recipe recently in Weber's greatest hits book. I haven't used it for tacos,  but did for nachos. It was a big hit.

16 oz chicken breast
1 jalapeno seeded
2 garlic cloves
1 cup basil leaves
3 tbs olive oil
2 tbs tequila
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Put the jalapeno and garlic in the food processor, and chop. Add everything else to processor, and process to a smooth paste. Rub on chicken, and marinate for 3 to 4 hours. Grill, and chop. It's really really flavorful. My new favorite chicken.

Has the crowd ever had ABT's and do you think they would go over with no stems and seeds? Ohh, Cheech n Chong...

Smoked salsa https://pelletfan.com/index.php?topic=961.msg10213#msg10213

Pulled pork sounds good or you could smoke/cook some hamburger meat for tacos in a cast iron pan on your grill.

That is a good idea, I myself love them.  Pretty easy to make also.
