Papa Murphy works for me being I live far enough in the country I cannot get hot pizza and pizza delivered.  I am usually at the door when they open at 11 AM.  By the time I get home, start the smoker up and then cook the pizza it is a little after Noon when I eat.  You cannot get hotter pizza than what you cook yourself.  The crust is crunchy and I get to drink a beer or two while I am cooking it.

I think the prices are still competitive to regular pizza shops.  Last week I bought two medium pizzas from Pizza Hut and they were $10 each.  I always get the large pan pizza for $10 (I don't know what it will be now being the prices went up) on $10 Tuesday.  Pizza Hut's pizza was good, but by the time I got home the crust was soggy and the pizza was barely warm.  I have been sick so I have not been to Papa Murphy in a while.  I will be heading into town today and I will check to see if the sign is still up for the $10 Tuesday special.

I never was a huge fan of papa Murphy, but I did get them from time to time. They all went out of business around here a couple years ago. I do miss them every so often.

We had a noble Romans take and bake that was pretty decent. They closed too.

Went out of business here as well.

I use the furnished paper tray. 20-30 minutes out she comes. Great results at 425...

In Vegas, they were almost across the street AND had a drive thru...so convenience, and to me, just a good pizza.  They had thin, medium(?) and a stuffed type too...so a few different dough thickness to choose from also.  Not sure you are missing anything!

Havening never had the opportunity to buy and cook a Papa Murphys's pie, what is it that I may be missing?

Edit:  Just saw this post, yes this also applies here in Mayberry!  Try and bring a cooked pizza home, it is room temp when you get there!

My local Papa Murphy still has the $10 Tuesday special.  This is for a large pizza.

While at Walmart I bought their XL Meat Lovers pizza for $8.  I will try it when the rain leaves, but in the past Walmart's pizzas were not very good (IMHO).

Is Papa M.'s better than the "fresh made" ones you can get at Wal-mart or Sam's??

I don't support WM, but if thier's are anything like Freddies, I'd say no way.

A PM large will last me 3 days (10-12 bucks depending). That's cheap tasty pizza. I find that the 'in store' versions always need to be doctored up.
I always cook them on the paper plate provided and follow the directions. Note: the directions printed for my pies are far off what has been posted here.

I have them at least once a month, I cook on the paper pan that it comes on and at the temp that is listed in the directions.  The family doesn't like a real crispy bottom crust.

I picked up a couple for dinner tonight along with a S'more dessert pizza.  They emailed me a 50% off 2nd pizza coupon so why not try a couple?

I cooked them at 435 for about 20 minutes. I put the paper tray right on the grates. They turned out good with a touch of hickory flavor from the Lumberjack 100% hickory pellets. Better flavor than an oven.

Next time I’ll cook them a little less as the crust was a little too crispy. I rotated them but still ended up with part of the crust burn. Must have been a hot spot.

I also cooked a s’mores pizza for good measure.

Cook PM all the time on the gill. We still have 5 dollar favs around our area so its generally a 5 dollar pepperoni and i get a thin crust with white sauce ham and mushrooms. Just let the stone heat up for about 20 mins and go. The subtle wood fired taste is about perfect to me.

I picked up a 16" Three Meat pizza while at Sam's Club yesterday and cooked it on my smoker today.  My wife doctored it up with additional pepperoni and cheese.  It tasted OK, but the crust was hard.  I prefer Papa Murphy over Walmart or Sam's Club, but I prefer Walmart or Sam's Club over Digiorno.
