Smoked Keto Burger
« on: February 21, 2018, 06:53:04 PM »

Using the Keto Coconut bread I made a smoked burger with smoked pepper jack, and avocado.

Smoked the party at 150 for 45 miinutes than a minute and a half on each side on a screaming hot cast iron pan.

Delicious, Smokey and Juicy.

Awesome, I can’t wait to have a burger with bread.  Bread pans came today, rest of the ingredients should be here by Friday.  Thank for sharing.

Thanks . folks.  Glad to contribute to this great forum.

This burger is one of the reasons I love the pellet grill.  Low temps, 45 minutes and up n running plus shut down in no time flat.

No need to tend to coals wood etc.

Looks great. I sent the recipe for the bread to my wife. Can’t wait to try it-we’re both doing a low carb diet as well.

Has a bit of a coconut taste. the texture is a bit bouncy like a dense pound cake but not sweet.

Is a reasonable approximation of bread. I'm trying out another recipe that uses yeast.  So far so good.  The dough is yeasty and has proofed to double the size in 30 minutes. Baking now for an hour.

looks really good and I applaud the innovation.  I however just use lettuce in place of bread.  Many restaurants do same.

How did the bread with the yeast work out?  I've been on the Keto diet for six weeks and it has really has helped my health.  Still haven't figured out the bread part yet.  Although we have made really good pumpkin, zucchini bread and pancakes.  When I make burgers at home we will dice up tomato, onion, and avocado.  Shred up whatever cheese we have and top the burger with all these ingredients.

It didn't turn out well. I left ou t the flax seeds because I didn't have them. And got the wrong yeast. Dry active. Needed instant. Will retry once I get the flax seeds.
