First Full Day of Spring
« on: March 21, 2018, 09:49:01 AM »

So lovely to greet the Spring!!  Just makes you want to get out in the garden :pig:  The funny thing -- we have only had 3.5 inches of snow for the whole winter and now, with spring, get more than that in one night!!!

That white pollution really pounded you.    :D

It is time for this stuff to stop as I am heading to North Carolina and Tennessee in a few days in my motorhome.

Thanks for posting.  Was wondering how you guys were doing with this recent storm.  Let us know how much you end up with.

The view is of Hansborough Ridge.  In the winter of 1863-64, the Union Army occupied the area with somewhere around 10,000 troops up on the ridge.  Not a tree was left standing when they departed.  They have recently found the remains of numerous encampment up there -- fire pits, foundations of some cabins, bits and pieces of crockery and guns, bullets, etc..  I believe it all recently became part of a civil war trust and they hope to open to the public in the future.  Still snowing!!

Beautiful!  We had a sunny and warm (60*) day yesterday.  Put me in a spring cleaning mode.  Now we are back to cold and wet.  Would rather see that snow than the rain.

I am a Civil War buff.  Would love to come down and see the many battlefields in VA.  Have been to Gettysburg, Manassas (Bull Run), Vicksburg and a few minor ones in MO & Arkansas.  All during my travels when I traveled and did training out of CA in the late 90's.

Oddly, The storms have missed us here in Central Wisconsin. Most of our snow is gone. Now if it would just warm up.

Fortunately I can't claim all of it as yard!!  I have 15 acres and 13 of those acres are leased to a neighbor to farm.  My yard in front does not extend too far out -- only a bit beyond the pine.  My neighbor is planting corn this year, so I will try and remember to take a photo when the corn is up fairly tall to show where the yard stops

As we say here in MN: "I don't know about you but I was working that day."
