Probably one of the best all in one options I've seen
« on: May 02, 2018, 07:45:37 PM »

I've always been impressed with the innovations from AZ bbq outfitters. Had my eye on several different ones over the years. Now they are fitting many of their cookers with a built in hole for a pellet hopper.

I watched the video on this cooker.
Pretty impressive.

Kind of looks like a Yoder. What is the price on one of these puppies?

Doesn't have the optional pellet hopper listed. I'm guessing another 300 or so for that. I've always thought their prices were fairly reasonable for what you get, but I've never seen one in person either. They use 3/16 inch steel instead of the more traditional 1/4 inch on quality offsets, so most of cost cutting probably is for that reason.

Pellet Pro hopper is pretty much the only option for build your own pellet cooker. That will set you back another $425 for the 18"auger tube. You can get the 12" auger for $400.

Cool looking cooker, and would be a great show piece on the deck, but as SmokinHandyman indicated, too much cooker for me.

There's not much I understand about this after watching the video. It's vastly more complicated than my lowly Jr.  ::)

I didn't even watch the video as the picture of the grill seemed more complicated than I care to deal with even if it could run on pellets.  Not sure what benefits it would provide me versus the 5 grills that I have, but it sure is interesting that they have turned their design into a pellet grill.

There is a lot going on with that grill but I have been looking for a wood burning Argentinian style for a year plus now.
Will be looking into this brand as I like the pellet option (I could do without the giant firebox hanging off the right side - Pellet hopper looks more integrated!)
Thanks for posting!
Edit:
Just back from a visit to the website.
This looks like a really well thought out wood/charcoal regular/argentinian grill and a pellet smoker too!
The right firebox is optional and you can upgrade items to SS for reasonable costs.
Seriously looking into this
Anyone want to buy a restored Yoder YS640 Comp?  ;D

I have many times thought about selling all my smokers, and getting an AZ multi use unit. The thought of selling them off for what I can get for them though holds me back. There's always one that won't move, and then I'm stuck.

I've been on the lookout for a decent Argentinian grill as well. Really holding out hoping to put one indoors though. I think I'd get much more use indoors. Love to have something similar to the pic below, but more likely would have to just build it in to a more traditional fireplace in our living room.
