Michigan, it's against the law to harm a rattler... endangered species and all that.

Leave it to MI to outlaw killing something that can kill you.  ::)

I'm sure other states will donate some if Michigan wants some....

The price of having green grass... Got some friends living outside of Eugene Oregon by some rocky areas. In the summer if it is real dry they will see some in there yards also.

No I did not eat it,  I heard it is pretty good.  My wife wanted it gone  she even made me wash my pocket knife after I used it to cut the rattles off.  I am from Illinois so this is a first for me.  We have only been here 5 weeks  and so far we really like it.  We live in what they call Sun City it is one of these Dell Web 55+ communities

We lived in an area prone to rattlers for a spell.   We kept a sprinkler going 24-7 moving it around so everything remained wet all the time.  Never saw one around the house in all the time we lived there.   Saw lots at work though.

That was a little one.  I've seen several over 5 feet and a few over 6 out in the South Texas brush when I was still working in it all the time.  It's a little nerve racking when you hear one start rattling and you don't know exactly where it is.  Especially at night.
