I thought there was a thread on this already, but I couldn't find it in the search. I found some good prices in my area recently for beef products that were on sale.

Chuck Roast $2.98/#
Bottom Round London Broil $1.98/#


I use the chuck roasts for pulled beef.  I may try to smoke it and then sous vide for sliced beef this winter.
I use the London Broil cuts for beef jerky.  Looks like somewhere in Oct-Dec I will have another big jerky cook.

What are the prices in your area?  This may be a good place to continue to help others know what good prices may be near them.

Dang that's a great price for the bottom round - at least a dollar more in my area when it is on sale.

I guess I will have to look when I go into town, but the last time I was in a local supermarket or even local Walmart, the lowest price I could find for anything other then ground beef is about $4/lb.  I wish some of these deals would come to this area!

You need to check their ads.  The chuck roast was a Friday only sale this week.  The bottom round was a buy 1 get 2 free special a week or so ago.

I like them prices. Chuck her 4.99 lb. They dont really sell the London broil around here. Ribeye is 12 or 13 lb.

I cooked a chuck roast last night in the slow cooker to make pot roast.  We've had rain every day for the last two weeks and can't cook outside.  It was $4.99 a pound from the local meat market and turned out delicious.  The same thing at HEB was cheaper and looked like it would be boot leather.
