speaking of cheese...
« on: October 12, 2018, 08:04:02 PM »

How about cheese in a can?  My niece graduated from WAZOO some years back. While at school, she worked in the WSU creamery. She graduated with majors in the health/diet/nutrition categories. Within 2 years, she was hired by Starbucks as a Sr. product developer. I am admittedly biased in the matter, but the proof is in the tasting.

I'm a cheesaholic, and I know of no program that can intercede (nor would I want that).

I love this stuff!! I'm aging some cans in my fridge! I call it my "retirement cheese"! I figure one day I'll find a rich WSU grad who wants a 15+ year old can of Cougar Gold and I'll be set!  :P

I open a can a year to make my Thanksgiving mac and cheese!

So I looked at the website, it’s $22.00 for a 30oz. can, is it THAT good?
I wouldn’t mind trying it but also would like to know is it like a soft nacho cheese type of cheese?

So.... I just lost 30 minutes of typing.  >:(

It is that good. The creamery produces 250,000 cans (234 tons) and sells out every year.
The cheese is not soft. The Gold will crumble when sliced, and the Naturals slightly less when opened right away. The longer the aging, the more crumbly it becomes. I'm down to 4 cans of the Gold, so I ordered 5 cans of the Natural last night.

Check out the FAQ's in the link.

Pick your favorite cheese and see if the manufacturer has a resume'. WSU Creamery does:

Having spent 45 years in the Seattle area before retiring to AZ, I am very familiar with Cougar gold. I currently have a 5 year old can of Gold in the fridge waiting for the right occasion to open, and yes, it is that good.  :lick:
