Trooper - you should take a shot at chicken. Your chicken looked pretty good at the Hog & Steer we did together back in 2016.
Z
The chicken usually looks good, but sometimes it comes out tasting like chicken soup.
Oh well. BRING IT ON!!
The great thing about this is - A complete amateur
backyard cook, like myself or ZCZ, gets a chance to put his finished product out there with some of the best BBQ'ers in the world. You find yourself out there in a parking lot with a great bunch of comrades and cooking with guys you've just met. Yup, and in somewhat shabby elements -against teams of cooks that have cooked together for years in huge mobile kitchens. And the team of pellet cooks are COMPLETELY supportive how however the turn-in numbers happen to fall. Hey, my chicken finished 50th out of 59 teams in the blazing heat of Jeffersonville, IN.
And what do I hear? Let's do it again, Trooper!
All I can say is I'm glad I entered the "arena" and participated. More on the "arena" down the road.
