What meal do you make the most on your grill?
« on: October 25, 2018, 09:19:32 AM »

Having a busy life, my wife and I are frequently doing quick cooks on the grill.
Most of what we end up cooking is a simply porkchop or cut of chicken.

What are your go to meals that you make fairly often that I should be trying.

Not the most frequent, but done often is spatchcocked chicken. Smoke ~ 1hr and finish at 400º, just minutes on the Memphis. Pull at 160º...Exceptionally moist.  The beauty is, eat now and left-overs... Give

a generous dose of Memphis Dust rub a try on it.

Same we buy whole chickens from the Hutterites, have ten of them in the freezer!

bacon.

DK

With patience and a rest, you'll get perfectly rendered bacon (thick cut).  I've gone as long as 2 hours at 180 or 90 mins at 225.  Let rest for 5 mins before eating.  You'll never pan fry bacon again.

Not exactly a meal... but I think the thing I cook the most on my pellet grill would be chicken... Thighs mostly, but wings now and then too... occasionally a drumstick or quarter...   Chicken Halves are probably my favorite though... I can eat the breast while my wife and daughter eat the dark meat... but then, thighs are cheap and a lot of good meat on them.

Friday night steak night, reversed seared ribeyes. Our grocery stores have been having steak wars all summer and prices have been around $4.77/pound. Labeled choice but some are close to prime.

Hard to say what I make most of as I tend to cook in bulk. If I had to pick one thing I guess it would be sausage.
