I see 13.  And I will tell you how. *See next post.  Don't look if you want to do it yourself, I guess that is assuming I am right!

*So we know (?) 1 through 9 are triangles (=9), then we have the image as a whole (=10)...here is where it gets dicy for me...is 1,2,3 & 4 also one, 2, 5, 6 & 7 and 4, 7, 8, & 9 also (=13)?

That is the way I see it.
Some of these things can really get you seeing fuzzy.

My guess would be 13

Triangles 1 through 9 make a triangle = 10
1+2+3+4 = 11 total triangles
2+5+6+7=12
4+7+8+9=13
