Finnaly Recovering from Back Surgery
« on: March 06, 2019, 02:45:31 PM »

Hello All,
Been a while since I posted. I had back surgery 12/10/18, It went well until complications after. I developed 5 Blood clots in my legs. Why because my Neurosurgeon did not follow my hematologist orders. I have had problems like this before so I went the extra effort to combat the problem from happening. NOT!!

I live in Texas and basically cannot sue the Guy. I wish I could.

So today I was finally able to get real clothes and shoes on. 8 weeks of Physical Therapy from a simple back surgery gone wrong due to GOD syndrome. He thought he knew better than my hematologist? What a dipstick. I will be posting soon on my fix of my Firecraft Q450 controller to a RecTec controller soon. I just fired it up today after replacing the bad controller about an hour ago. :)  It is good to think I will be able to use my PIT again soon.

Sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that.
Glad you are back on the mend and feeling good enough to get back to your pit.

About 25 years ago, I was in bad shape due to a badly degenerated disc in my back.  The surgeon that diagnosed the problem said that surgery was the only way to get the raging pain to stop and to get signed up for surgery.  I started questioning him about the surgery and he kept looking at his watch trying to leave the room.  My sister-in-law who works for Stanford Hospital suggested I contact some folks in the south bay that treat disc problems without surgery.  This is the path I took and was fine in three months.  After hearing your story I am again glad to have taken the nonsurgical route.

I hope your recovery progresses smoothly from here on out.

My wife was set for a second back surgery in about a week.
We called it off and she is on CBD oil that helps her a ton.

I had back surgery (fusion and Laminectomy) late last September. The good news, things went well, the bad news, it has not helped my back pain. So far pain medicine (oxycodone, etc.) has not helped either, someone suggested that I try CBD oil but I've never heard of it. Does it really work? What is a normal dosage? How do you consume it?

That really stinks! All that hassle and no pain relief? I hope you can find something soon that helps.

CDB oil is the DMSO of the 60's, but apparently, it does work on certain things.   My wife suggested it for controlling my diabetes.  I was skeptical at first but she insisted so...Long story short it does level out the numbers and I'm almost to the point of eliminating one of my prescription meds completely.   Our older cat has really bad arthritis and could barely get up and move around but since starting him on the bacon flavored stuff mixed in with his canned food, he's getting around bunches better.   Now....we've both got a monkey on our back. :rotf:

thanks all for the get wells. As far as back surgeries, I have had many. Mine started back in 1985 when an Idiot ran a red light and hit me. 9 surgeries later now and still ticking. LOL!!! As far as pain, I can't take any meds for mine. Allergies!!! So I grin and bear it. Not much pain now so I am good with it.

Really!

I was under the impression that DMSO was horse liniment, not trying to say that to be funny.  It was used on me in 1980 for football injury, was real hush hush from the trainer.  I had jumped over a friends fence, without knowing it I landed badly on a 4 x 4, sprained both ankles, I literally crawled back to my friends.  I did not think I would be able to walk by the weekend, they put this stuff on me Tuesday, Weds & Thurdsay...I had 2 sacks that weekend, would not have believed something could repair a part of the body that fast!  Not the shape my ankles were in.

CDB oil is the DMSO of the 60's, but apparently, it does work on certain things.

What stuck in my mind about DMSO was there was no clinical way to test it because you could taste it when applied to the skin.  So trial patients could tell it was a placebo or the real thing.   No real life experience with it personally.  Wife's grandmother was a firm believer in it.

The better half picked up 1200mg of CBD yesterday. Yikes, $2600/oz., cost twice as much as gold. I tried it this morning and will continue taking 50mg twice a day until it's gone.
