I have been at this for a while(Pellet Fan) and wonder what it would be like to meet some of you..I can almost imagine a certain personality, a face and your environment. Most are distant and reside in the

USA. I would just love to go on a long trip and meet some of you along the way. Unfortunately, this won't happen as age and health issues makes out of country health insurance prohibitive.

Do any of you share my views?

I have had the pleasure of meeting, and in a few instances competing with a few of the Members and it has always been an enjoyable time.  I think it would be very fun to get in a motorhome and travel all over meeting folks, I would enjoy that a great deal!

I have met a few members at KCBS events in my area before. But that was some time ago.

My two most memorable pelletfriends are the BentMan himsel and the ever illustrious ZCZ. I first met them both in (I think it was) 2009 at the KC Royal. Or maybe for the Bent, it was at a pellethead gathering in Wisconsin.

I continue to communicate with both of them very regularly, via txt, e-mail, this forum, or the good old telephone.

It would be fun to do some sort of get together. Where abouts are you in CA? Perhaps we could try some sort of a regional gathering(s).

I don't know the Windsor area well enough to say. I used to go thru there on our way to the U S. The last time was 5 years ago..Windsor has been under constant development in the last few years with major changes in the road system..There is a new, across the Detroit river, being built that will change things even more.

When you mentioned the Detroit River it got me thinking. We could gather in the middle of the river at Boblo Island. I haven't really been there, but my brother and his family live just outside of Detroit and like going there. Looking at the PF map I think there are a number of folks that would be within a comfortable driving distance. Food for thought!

It was the 2010 Royal and it was a memorable experience indeed!  We returned in 2012 & 2015 but the 2010 was special.

I checked out Boblo Island. There used to be an amusement park there. The island in now high end residential as far as I can tell.. lets keep thinking.

Hey CJ....I get to Toronto a lot, and used to go to Hamilton and every once in a while over to Detroit.  All of those circle you, but are still pretty good distances away.  I usually am only in those locations for a day or two.  Would be fun if the dates could ever work out.  I know you said long journey's might be unlikely, but anytime in the New Jersey or even NY city area, let me know.

I guess thinking isn't my strong suit! After you last posted I looked up Boblo Island and something wasn't meshing with what my brother had told me about his family going to the island. After a little digging I realized my mistake. I was thinking of Belle Isle. It is on the US side, but easy to get to from Detroit. Looks like lots of stuff to do, beaches, aquarium, museum etc.

Just a little grist for the mill and something to think about!!
