Time for Rib Eyes
« on: June 15, 2019, 12:00:34 PM »

Having my 97 year old Father in Law over for dinner today along with my wife’s oldest brother who is his care giver and her other brother and his wife. FIL loves Rib Eye steaks so the perfect treat for him.
Got these at Costco at almost $10/lb. but we’ll worth it to honor my wife’s dad (her mom passed away 10 years ago).

Did some biscuits. These are pre-made from Schwan’s.  An herb biscuit with cheese.

Seared the steaks at 600. The Memphis grills are awesome for high heat searing. About 2 1/2 - 3 minutes per side.

Great looking meal and flowers.  Was this also a sorta going away party too or will we see that later?

Glad we could honor him for Father’s Day (1 day early)
Thank you Don for many wonderful years and wonderful memories (& for your wonderful daughter)
I am a blessed man!

Wow.  The stories they must have about living through the Depression, 2 world wars, several other wars, changes in radio, TV, a computer, telephone, refrigerator, freezer, grills, cars, etc.  Would be fun to just pick a different topic every day and talk about it with them.
