Leaving my job after 18 years

Have been at a larger bank in MN for the past 18 years doing Business Analyst / tech support work. A company I applied to a couple years ago contacted me to apply for a new position. Needless to say I got the job and start next week. Today is my last day at my current job, both excited and nervous.  New job will be work form home 100% which is nice but also travels to customers sites out of state.  Mixed emotions today, have met so many good friends here, have also had some of the worst managers in my life.  Hoping this is a good move, money is allot better,  especially helps since the wife cut back on hours since her cancer.  Not excited about flying and being away from home but....  anyway just needed to ramble a bit so thanks for the ear everyone.

Sounds like a good move, $ is always better if it goes up and if the travel isn't too significant the work from home versus being on the road will hopefully be a push.

A change that big is always a bit nerve racking, but it sounds like a good move and opportunity.  Wishing you every success in this new undertaking!!! :cool:

Congratulations and best of luck to you.  I have been working at home for the last 4 years and traveling to Chicago periodically for work (2 hour direct flight).  PM if you have any questions regarding working from home.  It can require some getting used to.  Keep us update on how things are going.  I have an inkling that I may be leaving my job after 16+ years for something else at some point too for some of the reasons you are leaving your current job.

I have done that, and then did the big move to retirement!  Hope you are happy and the job fills you with purpose.  Otherwise when you can, jump the ship to retirement.
