For S'Mores Fans Everywhere

Learned about these several months ago from a friend and have been looking for them ever since. Bent finally found them last night at Walmart. Not cheap at $4 for a small bag, but curious to see if they make s'more making easier!

How did the chocolate taste?
How many per bag?
If they are good it would be quick and easy.

But....but....if you went with these and weren't prepared with extra Hersheys, then, you wouldn't have extra chocolate on yer s'mores.  And after all, that's why I eat s'mores to begin with.  We all have our vices, mine just happens to be chocolate. ::)

I like my smores with Reeses peanut butter cups instead of chocolate bars.

Yes!   My daughter (and thousands of others) "invented" these a few years back.   Peanut butter cups really do add a nice layer to an already rich dessert.

Next level smores?  Add a slice of candied bacon.

It doesn't really melt but it does get soft.
I've never had a complaint about the amount of chocolate but now that you mention it maybe I should try 1 Reese's and 1 Hershey's bar at the same time.

OK, did a little testing.  A couple of disclaimers:  (1) it has been a long time since I had a s'more, so perhaps not remembering it accurately;  and (2) I used a microwave to melt, not fire and that may have made a difference.

The marshmallow kind of expanded/exploded after 15 seconds in the microwave, so I said it was done.  The marshmallow seemed exceptionally sticky and was getting stuck on any and everything it even came close to touching (that's why a couple of the photos are bad, I was getting it on the camera.)  I had not remembered that from the days of campfire s'mores. It was nice and melted, but I did not think there was enough chocolate.

If anyone else tries them, I would love to hear your thoughts.

I like the Reese part.  Just heard about using home made chocolate chip cookies instead of graham crackers.  Must try!   :lick:  :lick:

The chocolate was ok, not enough of it and could have been a bit more powerful in flavor. There are only about 16 in a bag -- not many for that price!

a tip my daughter learned recently...   Don't set your microwave to  1:50, when you really want 0:15 , while making S'mores
