probes

Is there a different 3.5 mm temp probe which will work with my new Advantage?   Bought 1 from the dealer but, $69 for a temp probe?  Hope it's not proprietory.  Thanks in advance, feel free to PM if you'd like to stay low profile,   :-\

I believe they are proprietary.  I know I tried Thermoworks Pro Series probes and they did not work, but I have an 8 year old Memphis model.

All I know is they are costly and very well made..I take very good care of mine: kink free, clean by wiping only and storing in a safe place.... If there is a generic replacement I would be interested as these probes net out @ $113 Canadian.

Agree the temp probes are spendy. They are also the most well made I have ever encountered, or at least seem to be. Time will tell how well they hold up.

I have some Thermoworks K-style probes that seem indestructible.  It has me leaning toward spending $300 to replace my MAK controller so I can use them.

Still having trouble reconciling a $69 cost and a 30 day warranty.   Love my new grill though.

At least that $69 is better than the MSRP online price of $79 I paid for two additional to go with my Pro. I did get the Pro for $305 off MSRP at least.
