Interrupted jerky cook
« on: October 26, 2019, 12:56:11 PM »

Last weekend we started smoking some ground elk and this happened. Pit Boss went “plum goofy”. Called Danson and they said temp probe, I knew it was going to be less than fun and I asked them if they were sure? I did not want to try it only to find out that it was the board. No hassle at all and they sent me both. Called them Monday and I got them Wednesday. It’s chugging along fine. Fantastic Customer Service if you ask me. Jerky and then tomorrow the “blasphemy ribs”  I am excited to try.

Please share instructions if you have them on swapping that out.  They may come in handy down the road for some folks (myself included).

No instructions but you might remember that I screwed up and let the pellets get wet, that’s basically what I re-did. Chimney off, pellets out, lid stop off, door off and upside down. Remove old and replace with new. I am awful dang sure it was the temp probe. The connection end looked pretty funky. Chugging like a champ again.

In the background I see (snoopy me) a high chair, a gun safe and a dog crate.  It looks like my kinda' home.

Well Snoopy, indeed you are spot on. (Glad I’m not the only one who does it).
Granddaughters high chair (outgrown), John Deere gun safe(also outgrown) and our Shepherds kennel.
Keen eyes you have there.
