Add another to the list that is willing to help financially and in running the forum in anyway that you need.
Add me just for the $ help, you wont want me helping run a site.

+1
Happy to help contribute.

Al

Me three.

I don't have the knowledge to post anything worth cooking, but am more than happy to help out financially.

I'm a long-time follower and an avid reader of everyone's posts. As you can see, I never post. I would certainly be on board to help out financially.

Ed I respectfully disagree with your statement as I am sure what you cook is worthy of posting.  So don't shy away from posting your pictures. Another way to look at it is to ask yourself do those who you cook for enjoy your food if so then post.

I'm trying to come up with somewhat different, and when possible unique cooks to generate conversation and ideas. What are the options for stuffing a pork tenderloin? How many ways can I find to do the Danish spares? What's new, that I never thought of putting in the smoker before?

I agree and that said I do not always use my grill.  l many times I will cook inside using the oven, a SV machine stovetop etc.  I don't post those creations because they were not cooked on the Pellet grill. So isothere a possibility to expand what we post beyond the pellet grill?

I agree with just about everything that's been said here.   This however is a novel idea IMO.   I'm here for pellet cooking with a BBQ slant.   I feel that the majority of posts fit that bill.   Lots of posts about sous vide, blackstones, gassers. Certainly up to the owners, but it could be worth considering a non pellet section for cooking.    Yet that would undoubtedly require more administration.

I like the idea, thoughI did have to skip more than a couple threads on SV last year as it almost took over this forum (ok slight exaggeration).

DK, not to be argumentative, but if you go back and read a few of those SV post you will realize that they are almost always integrated with pellet grill smoking. These days 75-80% of all of my smoking involves SV at some point.

I am sure I gave off that vibe for far to long.  We tried to stay connected to the Pelletheads theme and that was probably a bad plan.  All I really wanted to do was stay connected to some of the folks I had grown fond of on that site and meet some new friends.  So I need to take responsibility for that!

...Post any cook you want!  None of these were done on a pellet unit.

While I don't post often, I read nearly every day. I'd miss PF if it went away.

We are dealing with my wife's breast cancer since March and still have a way to go to beat it, so my cooking has taken a bit of a back seat. I still use my smokers quite a bit, but usually just small items or if I need to cook something that I would normally cook in the oven. Nothing too exciting.

Awful sorry to hear that, hopefully all is going well and her recovery is complete. Prayers for all.

We are dealing with my wife's breast cancer since March and still have a way to go to beat it,

First and foremost and most important, RWhyman heart and prayers to your wife and your family in what we hope will be a quick recovery!!!

I am also one of our members who comes on this site at least 1X per day to read the post and continue to learn.  I have not posted many original posts of my cooks, because as mentioned, only so many times anyone wants to see another rib, butt, brisket cook.  I love my pellet pit for any long cook and things like chicken wings, bone in turkey breast etc, and use it OFTEN but a lot of the new cooks I have been trying have been cooked on a charcoal kettle pit.   I guess I was also trying to be true to the pellet cooking theme.

I like many others am more than willing to chip in to help keep the site going and continue to give all of us a place to come to learn more about pellet cooking, cooking in general, to sometimes have a good chuckle from a member story, or to share things going on outside of our cooking world.  Thanks Bentley and Kristin for keeping this going, it means more to a lot of people than you think.

I may have a different perspective since I was not on the other site. I find that the participation level is quite high here. There is always something new, and folks are not afraid to add their contributions when a post is made. I am very active on a couple of archery boards. They draw in more posts per day but they are also older and well established. I was part of an archery board that did not catch on and finally shut down. I was a moderator of one of the subforums and just could not generate enough interest. A symptom that you are in trouble is that only a few folks are posting, and they are the ones running the board. I appreciate the fact that there are folks of all level of expertise on this board. It is definitely a different experience for me. I have carved out a unique niche in the archery community that allows me to really contribute, but I have no particular expertise here, other than just using my smoker a lot, for almost every meal. So I will keep posting and hopefully, someday, I will learn enough to add to the body of knowledge cataloged by this forum. And by the way, tonight was two ribeyes and three talapia filets. Getting ready for Thanksgiving. That means I may have all four barbecues going at the same time.

As a side note, I got into pellet smoking after cooking a brisket on my Weber kettle last year for Thanksgiving. My wife was supposed to get a rib roast but the prices went up and she came home with a brisket. It was a good thing that I barbecued a turkey as well because the brisket was not done until way after dinner. We sent half of it home with our guests. A couple of weeks later I bought my Daniel Boone. I figured I needed the right tool for the job. I think I will be cooking another brisket this year for Thanksgiving, but this time it will be done in time.

I'm moving to Culpeper, VA if PF closes.  Kristin and Bentley will probably have to get a restraining order against me.

HA, pmillen,
I'm packing too. Just incase.
 Looks like we'll be neighbors.
