Birthday Party
« on: January 21, 2020, 04:00:14 PM »

Hello,

Yesterday was my 50th birthday.  My wife planned a surprise party for Sunday evening, but she is lousy at keeping secrets so I found out about the party three days early.  No big deal, this knowledge gave me time to prepare a feast.  I started smoking an eye round at 6 PM.  The internal temperature was 145 at 10 PM, so I pulled that and started two big pork butts.  One was them was pulled at 3:30 PM Sunday afternoon, and the second one was pulled at 5 PM.  Total cooking time was 23 hours.  I really wanted to throw something else in the Firecraft so that I could have kept in running for more then 24 hours straight.  Maybe I'll get another chance to do this next year when I turn 51.

It sounds to me like she played you like a fine violin as you ended up cooking for your own surprise party.  I mean I am just saying

I hope you will have many more happy birthday days!    I'll bet you had fun preparing and enjoying the feast.
