« on: January 30, 2020, 05:45:09 PM »

Looks like it will be fried wings, loaded potato skins, French dip, Pico de gallo/Guacamole Hybrid and chips.  Practicing the Skins tonight, so hope to have some pictures.

Will scoop out most of potato, then deep fry, fill with bacon & cheese, put under broiler, then finish with Scallons and sour cream!  Good quality, healthy dinner!

I been asked to make BBQ beef so I picked up a chuck roll. Will fabricate it into chuck eye steaks, sierra, and Denver steaks to freeze. The rest will be cut into chuck roasts for the BBQ beef.

My wife is going to make Guinness Beef Pot Pie which seems like a pot roast then baked in a puff pastry after reading the recipe she had from some magazine.

They were OK, nothing to write home about.  Never enough seasoning for me.  I am either to lite or I ruin the dish for others with the amounts I use.  I would also use a "flavored" sour cream next time.  Maybe Lipton Onion soup time!  And I think I would do as the bars do and leave the sour cream in a separate dipping dish!  Good practice for the future, but not sure they are worth making foe SB!

Bentley, try mixing some chunky salsa with the bacon and cheese mixture before putting it in the broiler. This is how Applebees' used to make their Baja Potato Boats when I worked there 25 years ago, and I still make them that way today!  :lick:

I can lift a drink or two though...

That's the most important part!

Not sure what I want to cook.  Guess I need to ask the girls.

Tri tip, chili beans, cornbread, Atomic Buffalo Turds, Tator salad. Chips and dips and some Michelob Ultra to offset the carbs, lol.

Probably nothing too exotic for Sunday.  Going down to Philly with a bunch of friends to watch a couple college basketball games and hang in the city on Saturday/Saturday night, and I leave for Tokyo on Monday morning for the balance of the week.  Probably going to keep it easy and quiet on Sunday.  However, going to keep an eye on this thread to get jealous of all the great cooks.  Enjoy.

Cajun seafood boil.  Sausage, fingerling potatoes, corn (rotten time of year for it,) muscles, white shrimp, and three dungeness crab.    Kids will make a Red Lobster recipe for cheese biscuits.
