Bummer, I don't know what I'd do if one of my freezers went out.  :'(

Me neither, especially if it was a power outage.  I have no other way to cook then to use electric.

I could deal with a power outage, I have an 2000W portable generator that I could use in an emergency.

Are you guys with generators fully stocked with fuel?

This has me thinking I need to get a whole home generator.

I usually have about 20-25 gallons of fuel for the landscaping.  If I know big winter storm or storm with high winds is coming through always make sure they are full.  Went 5 1/2 days without power the summer I was here with mom in 2012.  Most since then has been less then 24 hours...

How long does a gallon of fuel last?  BTW, thanks for the education on this subject.

The 2000 watt Honda, depending on load. 9-12 hours.  The big 6000, same thing, 6-8.  The only thing we keep running in a blackout is both fridges and the freezer, and I dont even hook them up unless the power is out for more then 6 hours...

So, 20-25 gallons would last a week or so based on my quick math without getting a pen/pencil or calculator involved.  Correct?

If I have a freezer, fridge, and regular kitchen fridge/freeezer unit (3 in total) running, what type of generator would you recommend to keep them all running?

I would guess a minimum of 2000K.  I have a 6000K Yamaha and a 10,000K Generac.  I converted the Yamaha to propane and need to do the same to the Generac.  I think I could run the whole house with the big one, but the carburetor went south again, thus the conversion.  I would get a tri-fuel one and use propane.  The Yamaha starts every time on the second or third pull.

The Honda Eu-2000 runs all 3 of ours.  You asked me to do math, that's a good one  :pig:

It is a sad, sad day, but I just feel I have to rat out, ummm, report this incident.  I was out gardening this morning and looked up at Bentley's bathroom window.  An obvious incident of hoarding.  So sad. ;)
