My advice would be that if you are going to be tearing it apart to replace an auger, motor, or controller that you should replace the igniter rod and be done with it.  They don't last very long and you have it for five years and use it quite a bit.  It is also not very expensive.  You can keep the one you pull out to use in an emergency or just manually ignite pellets in the fire pot, get a good fire going, and then turn on the controller and it should stay lit.

That is the way I am thinking.  I am leaning toward replacing the temperature sensor also being everything is apart.  Everything is apart now and covered with a tarp.  It started to rain shortly after I took it apart.

I am still waiting for GMG to get back with me via email.  I have hearing issues so I prefer email over the phone.

I'm cheap and my labor is free that is why I would wait on the igniter and temp sensor.  Like you said the money is getting up there with the auger assembly and igniter so why not get a new grill?  If you can get a auger motor only that is what I would do but I am probably in the minority.

I guess GMG was not open yesterday.  I sent an email and called with no responses.

I miscalculated the cost.  It will be $134 plus S&H for the auger assembly, the igniter and the temperature sensor.  I can easily replace the control panel whenever I need to.  I want to make sure there is no more troubleshooting to do with GMG before I place my order.

If you do replace it, make sure to save the old shear pin and auger!

Oh I will.  I never throw anything away - you can ask my wife!

After completing several troubleshooting steps GMG determined that the control board needs to be replaced.  I have it ordered.

I did a short test today doing some chicken wings.  It seems like the smoker gets up to the temperature and back down faster than before.    I did not use any of the wifi features.  Can I remove the antenna without any issues?  It gets in my way seeing the temperature.  I would not think it would, but I wanted to check.

You can remove it.  Or you can reposition it seems like.  My neighbor has mine on trial basis to see if he wants to buy it.
