Web Site Issue
« on: September 20, 2017, 07:13:15 PM »

I was staying at a hotel on Monday night. After being there for a few hours I was unable to access pelletfan.com using my laptop.

Checked it with my phone and it worked there. Also tried Tapatalk and that worked also so I new the web site was not the issue.

I'm guessing that the IP address assigned was the issue but have no clue how to resolve it.

Any one have any ideas or suggestions in case it happens again?

No IP's have been banned yet to my knowledge, so I have no idea!  The only IT help I know is clear the cache and see if it works next time it happens!

I don't think the IP was banned. It worked just fine the first few hours. I tried clearing the cache, cookies and history. Didn't help.

Guess I wondering more if any one how to change a IP address.

It's working fine right now that I'm home.

I created an automatic redirect from http://pelletfan.com to https://pelletfan.com.  If you ever have an issue try going directly to https://pelletfan.com

Guess I wondering more if any one how to change a IP address.

One thing you can do is use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Normally to get a good one you need to pay a yearly service, but the Opera browser now offers free VPN through their servers and it works quite well - just as a test, I set myOpera browser to a German Opera VPN server and my IP appeared to be from Germany.

As an aside, using a VPN is a good idea if you ever log into public wireless services - there are bad people that can capture your data on the fly. Using a good VPN encrypts the data before it ever leaves your device.

And a big thank you to Bentley, Kristen, Chris and every one else that helped to create this site.
