Pot Roast the Easy Way
« on: September 29, 2020, 06:11:22 PM »

I picked these up at Costco while looking for easy meal.  Was not sure how they might taste.  Price was right. I love fall apart pot roast but was not able to get the texture  quite right (although I learned how from recent posts on the matter). Also, love to have it with good brown gravy. What a surprise! Fall apart pot roast Choice grade and really good drippings gravy.  Only found a single blob of fat in the whole bag. Gravy had minimal fat to remove.  We had hot beef sandwiches that were very tasty.  So I went and bought two more to freeze.  We had three meals for $11.49.  We chose to boil the bags, rather than microwave. After defrosted, just put the bag in boiling water for 25 minutes, cut open and just remove any fat blobs (almost none) and ready to eat.

Always great when you find something and buy it while being a bit leery of it, and it exceeds your expectations.

Yes.  So often those ready made dishes are less than satisfying.

I want to try that, especially since it's gluten free.  I don't think my wife renewed our Costco membership though.  We seldom went because Sam's is closer.
