Do you have/remember this recipe?
« on: January 24, 2021, 07:28:33 PM »

Folks, I know I am really stretching here, but who knows?  At the 2010 American Royal, ACWIII submitted a recipe for the potato entry which I cooked.  I thought it was really good -- hash browns, cheese, cream and herbs de Provence.  We posted the recipe on Pelletheads, but like many, that recipe is now lost.

Did anyone keep a copy of that recipe and, if so, would you share/post?  Thanks.

Searched the Wayback machine and thought I had it for a minute, but it said the URL doesn't exist.
Then couldn't find it again. Started getting the "Guest, you are banned from this forum" message.

The thread was called "Those Potatoes 2"  posted in June of 2010

I found it based on your lead, 02ebz06.  It was posted June 16, 2010.  It wouldn't open because the Wayback Machine didn't capture the actual post.

I did a google search for Those Potatoes II and there are several online recipes under that name.  May be worth a try, Kristin.  Let us know what you come up with.

I did, too.  I didn't see one that came close to Kristin's description.

I didn't have time to open up any of the links.

I looked at several on-line, but nothing really similar.  A lot of the on-line recipes used cream of chicken soup and cornflakes.  I don't remember any soup and I know there were no cornflakes.  I think it was an original recipe -- certainly a custom riff on a recipe and the herbs de Provence were a special addition. So disappointed I did not write it down in my recipe box.  You always think things on the internet will be there forever.

I learned this the hard way, now I am a digital hoarder.  Copies on local hard drives and in the cloud and they don't clutter the house.   :rotf:    Love Microsoft OneNote for this and it's free.

I also wish I had measured and written down several recipes.  It's annoying to create a winner and then forget the details.  :(

Good luck on your search.

If anyone knows ACW3 (Art) or has an email they feel they could share (or would feel more comfortable contacting him directly so as not to give out personal info) I would be happy to contact him and ask for recipe.
