Very simply, save your money and buy somewhere else.
You will be glad you did.

I think they are an insult to Omaha.  Average quality IMO.  Not sure the price is excessive.  I used to live in Omaha and worked in a supermarket. Best meat I have ever tasted was available there both in stores and restaurants. In recent years, have been able to get excellent meat from Costco and others locally, but none in my opinion as consistently good as Omaha.  Since the 1960's cattle have not been driven or carried to only slaughter houses in major places like KC, Omaha, Chicago, and then fattened up there before slaughter. Instead, they have been carried to local feed lots across the country, just about everywhere to feed and slaughter more locally.  Simpler and cheaper to ship the feed, than to drive or ship the cattle. Also, less damaging to the cattle.  At one time Omaha was the largest railhead in the world, I am told.

Costco seems to have the best value in beef in my area.  My wife got me a vacuum packer for Christmas and I started buying whole prime rib eye roasts in early April at Costco to cut into steaks for the freezer.  Going this way I am able to save around $10 lb.  The steaks are great.  Yeah a little trimming is required but not enough to justify the $10 difference.

We had a get together for vaccinated members of the family this past Saturday.  I was going to do a brisket but my wife insisted on rib eye steaks.  The party consisted of my sister-in-law, her husband, my wife's parents, and our daughter.  This is the first time in a year I saw my sister-in-law and her husband.  The steaks turned out great.  My sister-in-law's husband kept insisting that Safeway meat is better.  My sister-in-law disagreed.

We've been given stuff from there and bought some a couple times.  Way too pricey for the quality I think.  The few times I've been to Costco they had better meat than what we got from Omaha Steaks.  I went to Sam's yesterday and the meat there wasn't very good looking either.  I can get better at H-E-B.

We shop at Sam's club as well and the USDA prime stuff is always nice there, some of the stuff isn't the best, but it is nice when you can find the prime stuff discounted for quick sale.
