Anyone else have the Ronco rotisserie machine?
If you like the roasted chicken they do a fantastic job.

I have the george forman version. I agree they do great on cooking I have done beef roasts, pork roasts, and my favorite is duck. If you do duck remember to empty the catch pan or you will have a mess. Trust me.

Had one a few years (10) back. Made great chicken. Realized that there were three different chains that offered great fresh, whole rotisserie chicken for $4.99 to $6.99 every day in our area.  We get them hot off the roto and put them in the oven for another 30 minutes or more at 350* and dive in. The different store use different seasonings but all are good.  Bottom line: you can't make them as cheap, or better (arguable point) and the Ronco was a mess to clean. Garage sale--gone! My 590 and B380 do other chicken recipes just fine. Is Ronco still in business???
No complaint about the Ronco results if done right. (making sure the chicken is on and snug--bigger mess if it slips on the rotisserie pole). He must have sold a million of them. I think it would still be handy for roasts etc if you don't have a roto for your smoker or grill.  :2cents:

Malcom Gladwell's book, What the Dog Saw has an interesting chapter on Ron Popeil and the Showtime Rotisserie.

IMHO, the entire book is interesting, like all of Galdwell's writings.

As a rotisserie, I am assuming the heating element is just on the top?  Or is it on the back side?  Have you ever cook a half or quarter pork belly in it?

Just the back for the element.
Never on pork belly but have done wings, shrimp, many vegetables and steaks.
Chicken (whole) is great and a fat rib eye is equally as good.

Yes, it has skewer rods that go through the wheels and 3 different baskets for everything else.
The tops of the baskets and the sides to show the location for the rotisserie rods.

Hey yorkdude, yep we still have one.  Have not used it in a few years.  Matter of fact the last time we used it I might have mentioned it on this site, or maybe it was longer than I thought and my mention was on the old site.  When we use it it is great, just don't use it that often with all the other types of cookers we have.

I caught a lot of fish with the Popeil Pocket Fisherman.  (panfish).  Kept it in the car ready to go.
