  •  Some of us in Canada have been using Gildale Premium (100%) hardwood pellets with great success. $6.50/ 40LB was an excellent price..

In the last few years the pellets came in a clear plastic bag - no label.  Several resellers sold them, the only problem being an elevated price.

Things have changed @ Gildale Farms. All their heating pellets including their Premium line now contain at least some softwood.  CAVEAT: resellers may continue pedling the "Premium" pellets as hardwood, not

disclosing the wood species..A clear unmarked bag should be a warning.

The good news.  Gildale is manufacturing BBQ Pellets in well marked bags. The down side is pricing. It's ~ 1/2 the price of other cooking pellets and 3X what the original Premiums were.

My limited computer skills didn't allow me to copy the BBQ pellet info here. If interested, Search Gildale Farms. It's all there
