My family had traveled to Europe in 1976 for vacation.  We were on the Coast of Wales on July 4th, 1976, in a pub...boy howdy, they were celebrating July 4th, I mean to tell you!

Not doing anything, cos I am a Brit! :D

But just thought I'd post and wish you all a happy July 4th

You can still bbq.  I bbq on Boxing Day. Any day is good for a nice grilling.

Heh. I'd decided to keep it clear of BBQ, as it was supposed to be torrential rain all day. As it happened, it had its moments - wet as a duck's back one minute and sunny the next, but plans were made. What I did make inroads in was seasoning my CI griddle.

Instead, I was indoors, playing with brisket and sous vide. It came out this morning, and is currently resting. Will be interesting to see what results.

My first 4th of July BBQ at our new home and new deck was a success.  I was able to squeeze the the seven pound brisket flat into my rotisserie basket and it was put on the GMG DB at 2 AM.  It was removed around 2 PM and put in an ice chest wrapped up in towels.  The temperature of the smoker was bumped up to put on some Conecuh sausage and the apple cobbler.  The Traeger Junior was then fired up to put on the Jalapeno poppers which filled it up.  When the sausage was removed some of the corn was put on the DB.  When the poppers were done more corn was put on the Traeger.  We snacked on the poppers and sausage while drinking a cold one until it was time to eat.  My niece was the cooker and provider of the poppers and corn.  I just had the smoker set up for her to use.

Everything turned out great and my wife got off of her diet for a day to eat the goodies.  She had baked beans cooking inside and my SIL brought over potato salad.  We ate out on our deck under the shade of the umbrella and house with two fans blowing.  It was not hot even with the temperature in the mid 80's.  We topped off everything with a bowl of apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top.

Looks good Lew !!!

I was so darn busy yesterday, I never did take any pictures.  >:(

The pulled pork came out great.  Put on Friday night at 9:45pm at 200f.
Pulled and wrapped in foil 8:00am. IT was 189f.
Back in the smoker, bumped temp to 275f.
Hit 202f close to 10:00am, so pulled it and FTC until noon.
